intro
"על הר גבוה, עלי לך מבשרת ציון... אמרי לערי יהודה הנה אלוקיכם" (ישעיה מ, ט) With these words, the prophet Yeshayahu informed the Jewish People of the approaching redemption. The prophet called upon the bearer of good tidings, to rise up to the mountains and announce to the Jewish People that their exile has ended. More than 2500 years later, the contemporary town of Mevaseret Zion sits nestled in the mountaintops at the western approach to Jerusalem, with inspiring views overlooking the Holy City. In the heart of this modern suburban community stands an exciting Beit Midrash and a dynamic Yeshiva: Yeshivat Sha'arei Mevaseret Zion. YSMZ is a learning program for graduates of Yeshiva high schools throughout North America, Canada and various European countries including the UK. It offers serious students the ideal experience of learning Torah in Israel, through a unique blend of Torah learning on the highest level and the warmth and friendliness of a small Yeshiva. With a brilliant Rosh Yeshiva, a vibrant team of Rabbeim, and a wide array of shiurim together with a self-contained campus comprising a Beit Midrash, Beit Knesset, classrooms, dining hall, dormitories, basketball court, ping-pong and weight room facilities, e-mail room, and every other amenity nearby, Yeshivat Shaarei Mevaseret Zion fulfills the needs of every student in and beyond the realm of the Beit Midrash. Not only do our students learn about learning Torah, they return
home with an unparalleled education in life, and enduring friendships
with fellow students and Rabbeim alike.
